    ABOUT OUR LAMB

    Dion & Ali create a premium lamb throughout the 12 months of the year. We achieve this through being breed and gender specific and keeping the lamb as stress-free as possible.

    Our lambs are Romney/texel in conjunction with a Charollais Ram. The Charollais ram breed is fairly new to NZ. With fine shoulders and narrow heads for easy lambing, they are fast to grow and are a high meat yielding sheep. For you the consumer it means you are getting more meat and less bone. They also lay their fat down differently creating intramuscular fat. Intramuscular fat makes the lamb more tender and juicy.

    As farmers we don’t eat male produce – this is because the male hormones in the lamb can change the taste at different times of the year. All lamb boxes will contain guaranteed ewe lambs (female eating).

  • FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

    The BBQ Lamb Box (Half) comes in a Chilltainer box which is recyclable. It is packed with ice slicks and is tied down to secure the package. Each cut is wrapped individually and labelled ready for your fridge or freezer. The size of the box is 680mm L x 315mm W x 160 mm H. The arrive fresh with a minimum carcass weight of 18KG

    All our orders are processed to order, once confirmed is sent in to be processed through our local butchery in the Wairarapa. We dispatch Wednesday or Thursday each week. You will be notified by Ali on email in addition to this an email will be sent to you with your tracking details. 

    We have looked into this and we have concluded that a whole and half lamb will fit in an ordinary conventional freezer drawer. This would obviously depend on the contents that are currently in your freezer, however, a half will happily fit in a drawer with some frozen veges and other frozen foods.
